Can I bring my own alcohol to ITSARA?

Yes, but wine only on our cellar nights listed on our home page (Click Here). There is a $10 per bottle corkage.

Do you have Gluten Free options

Yes we do, besides a couple of our desserts our entire menu is gluten free

How do I make a booking?

You can make the booking by phoning (08) 6389 2441.
The phone will be answered from 9am everyday otherwise the answering machine will pick up your call and we endeavour to call you back within the hour.
While we can take bookings online through our site here there may be a longer delay in responding so if you want a booking for tonight call us instead.

Where does the restaurant name come from?

It is the English name of the chef and co-owner Itsara Pracharoenwattana.

Who is the chef? Where does he come from?

Chef Itsara Pracharoenwattana, PhD. He is a Thai national and grew up in Thailand.

What make dishes at Itsara different to dishes from other Thai restaurants?

We make all of our own pastes and sauces, using the best quality of fresh ingredients, while paying attention to every detail of each dish. We also grow alot of our own herbs and vegetables to ensure they are pesticide free and full of natural flavour.
Most of dishes are unique to our restaurant.
A lot of time goes into each dish to make them to the chef’s exacting standards.

What are the little green pea like things in some of the curries?

Thai tiny egg plant: Solanum torvum Sw. (in Thai makhua phuang มะเขือพวง)

Who makes all of the desserts?

All of the desserts are made in house by Chef Itsara.

Can I have my dish hotter or milder?

Yes, you can. Please mention to staff when ordering. Nothing on the menu is so spicy that it fights against the flavours of the meal. Thai food is all about balance which includes spice.

Do you cater to people with varying dietry requirements?

Absolutley, wether it’s an allergy or a medical condiion or simply you don’t like the taste of an ingredient we can cater for you.

Do you use any MSG or enhancers in your dishes?

NO Way!

Why some dishes on the menu not available all year round?

It depends on the availability of the fresh produce.

Do you take the Entertainment Card

Yes, we do currently take the Entertainment Card.

What is sculpture on the wall?

It is the prow of King RamaI royal boat. It called “supanahong” and is a revered symbol of Thailand.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes you can, we have a very good value Banquet-menu available for larger tables of ten or more.

Can I buy a gift voucher for ITSARA?

Yes you can, Gift Certificates are available in any amount

You can drop by the restaurant in person to purchase from our friendly staff.
You can also buy them over the phone and we can post it out to the recipient or email a digital copy. 

Gift Certificate terms and conditions:
– Gift Certificates must be used by persons 18 years or older.
– All gift vouchers are valid for a 1 year period starting from the date of purchase.
– All gift vouchers are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash
– All gift vouchers are redeemable on 1 visit to ITSARA only
– Any remaining value is forfeit if not used in one transaction

What is the Dress Code?

Smart Casual. Just steer away from singlets, thongs (flip flops) and boardies (swimwear) and you’ll fit right in.
